If you can start the day without caffeine,

If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment
If you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him,
If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,
If you can conquer tension without medical help,
If you can relax without liquor,
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

About Me
I grew up with many dogs. We always had a variety of animals around the house - big dogs, small dogs, mixed breeds and purebreds. All I can remember is that the companionship of a dog was a big part of my growing up.
As a child we also owned many horses. I competed and showed American Saddlebreds in 3-Gaited and Saddle Seat Equitation classes. I also showed my Paint in Hunt Seat Equitation and Pleasure classes. I still own my Paint, Skippy, who is now 24 years of age. He is now retired and hangs out on the farm. I am sure that my experiences with showing and owning a variety of horses have helped me to be a better competitor in the obedience world.
As an adult I purchased my first Labrador, OJ . I didn't know much about Labs back then, I only knew they were wonderful family dogs and had bountiful personalities. OJ did a great job at teaching me what I wanted in a lab (and what I didn't want!).
My male lab, Fritz was purchased from Endless Mtn. Kennels and was my first Competitive Obedience dog. Fritz is the lab that got me hooked into the sport of obedience and training pure-bred Labradors. Fritz was easy to train, but difficult to rely on. No matter how much I "proofed" him, I never ever knew what he was going to do. Fritz is now retired after receiving his UDX and is the resident couch potato and my best friend.
I bought Stormee three years later. She is so full of the Labrador temperament. She is so willing to please. Stormee quickly and easily earned her OTCH, UDX3, OM1, RE by the time she was four years old. Stormee was also in the top 10 labrador retrievers featured in Front and Finish for Obedience Delaney points. Stormee has now received her OM2 and was once again invited to the National Obedience Invitations this year being held in CA.
Tawnee is also doing quite well in the Competitive Obedience world earning her RE and CD titles before the age of two. Tawnee has also completed her Utility title on October 31st and her first UDX leg on February 20th. She just recently turned five and now has 6 UDX legs and working towards her UDX. Competing in obedience and meeting new friends and the enjoyment of training my dogs has been and will continue to be a wonderful experience.
The most important aspect is that my dogs are part of my family and have full access to the house and yard. All my dogs have obedience titles and represent the breed standard. I am a member of the Dauphin Dog Training Club, Allentown Dog Training Club and the National Labrador Retriever Club. I hope you enjoy my dogs, I sure do! I have recently added H.S. Willowdale’s Topwater Hans Solo to our family. Special thanks to Edna Schenck, Hiddensprings Kennel for this beautiful boy. I had Solo in a sanctioned breed match on 1/14/12 and he took 2nd place in the 3-6 month male puppies. He also went on to win “Best Opposite Sex to Best” in Sweepstakes. He has already started puppy obedience classes and is doing quite well.
Willow Dale Labradors is a selective, performance oriented kennel,
keeping only a few Labradors to train, show, and occasionally raise a litter.

I want to preserve the all-around versatility aspect of the Labrador
and that is why I remain on such a small scale, to devote the time
and attention to developing and displaying these attributes in my dogs.
To me, physical and mental soundness (which includes consistency,
trainability, intelligence, and the pleasing Labrador temperament)
go hand in hand with conforming to the standard for Labrador breed "type".
I am committed to producing quality puppies who excel in conformation
and performance as well as being outstanding companions.
The Labrador is a retrieving gun dog of medium size, with a dense, weather-resistant coat, an "otter" tail, and a clean-cut head with a "kind" expression. The first Labradors arrived in England from Newfoundland aboard fishing boats early in the 19th century, and imports to this country began in the early 1900s. A Labrador temperament is outgoing, indulgent with peers, human oriented and tractable. In addition to family homes and hunting blinds, Labradors can be found in guide and assistance dog programs, and substance detection and search and rescue work.
Since 1992, the Labrador Retriever has headed the list as the most popular breed in the U.S.
