The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)
The OFA has registries for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, cardiac, thyroid, shoulder OCD, congenital deafness, and a variety of genetic tests. There is an online open registry where you can search for your dog's relatives.
The Canine Eye Registry Foundation (CERF)
CERF is a registry for hereditary eye disease. Although CERF has its own database, the results are cross-reported to OFA.
Optigen
Optigen offers a variety of DNA based tests, and is the company that offers genetic testing for progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) in the Labrador retriever as well as other breeds. Optigen also offers genetic testing for narcolepsy in Labradors.
The Canine Health Information Center (CHIC)
Provides DNA banking for research. A "CHIC number" is assigned to dogs that meet their national club's requirements for health testing.
